Kinesiology taping (KT) is a therapeutic tool and has become increasingly popular within the sporting arena. Taping has been used for a long time for the prevention and treatment of sporting injuries. KT is not only used for sporting injuries but for a variety of other conditions. It was developed with the intention to alleviate pain and improve the healing in soft tissues. There are many proposed benefits to KT, including proprioceptive facilitation; reduced muscle fatigue; muscle facilitation; reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness; pain inhibition; enhanced healing, such as reducing oedema, and improvement of lymphatic drainage and blood flow.

The physical changes to a women’s body as related to pregnancy are multiple. The center of mass changes, there is more pressure on the organs, and there is increased weight to be carried. All of this in a relatively short span of time often leads to back pain, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence. In fact, over two-thirds of pregnant women experience back pain, one-fifth experience pelvic pain and over 40% experience urinary incontinence in their first pregnancy – with half remaining incontinent at 8 weeks post-partum, and one-third experiencing a new onset of incontinence after childbirth. so the whole idea of pre and post natal exercises is to assist the mother with free movement and delivery and also to bring her back to normal body status after delivery of the baby.

Trigger point dry needling, also referred to as intramuscular stimulation (IMS) and/or intramuscular therapy (IMT) is an invasive procedure in which an acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. It's actually considered part of physiotherapy and is not acupuncture. it is used to release myofascial trigger points also.
